Primary School Teachers, Nepal - International Nepal Fellowship

Submitted: 13/03/12 ; Closing Date: Open

INF urgently needs expatriate Christian Primary School Teachers for its Primary Study Centres in Nepal, with at least 2 years experience of teaching the British or a similar curriculum. There are vacancies for key stage one and two teachers, as well as pre-school teachers.

There are currently INF primary study centres in Pokhara and Surkhet. They were set up to serve families working for INF, but have always included a number of non-mission children. The study centres aim to provide a quality education, which closely follows the British National Curriculum, within an International environment. Students are taught the core subjects of English, Maths and Science, plus History, Geography, Art, Craft, Technology, P.E., Music, R.E., Citizenship, all within the Christian ethos of the study centre.

The teachers need to be fully qualified, and able to teach children of different ages from pre-school up to 11. Duties would include implementing a programme of study (suitable for the assigned children), maintaining planning records, and evaluating progress and attainment.

Many of the children at INF's Primary Study Centres do not have English as their first language, so experience of working in an international or multi-cultural environment is desirable.

To request an application pack:

As well as having relevant experience, in order to gain the necessary visa for this post, the successful applicant will need to have a degree or equivalent qualification.

As part of the role, successful candidates will develop a group of individuals and churches to pray for them, encourage them, and meet their financial needs.  Successful candidates will be given the training, help and resources needed to build this team of supporters, so they can partner with them in their service.

All posts offered by INF are subject to CRB and medical checks.

It is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for the successful applicant to be a Christian.
