About the Role

VMM is an NGO who is committed to building the capacity of our Partner Organisations (such as CAFOD, One Brick at a Time, CORDAID and many more) through our overseas programmes. The VMM began in 1969 in Uganda and since then has worked in 40 countries and sent over 2,900 skilled people overseas.

Based in the Netherlands, CORDAID's programme focus is on participation, emergency aid and reconstruction, health and well-being and entrepreneurship. Yondlabantu Foundation in South Africa

A community-based healthcare and welfare support NGO that bridges the gap between healthcare institutions and those most in need in isolated rural communities and unable to access such support. They offer a Home-Based Caring programmes and an Orphans and Vulnerable Children programme.

CAFOD in Zimbabwe

Working with the poor and disadvantaged in the global South to overcome poverty and bring about sustainable development, protect lives and relieve suffering during emergencies and reduce the risks to vulnerable communities as a result of conflict and natural disasters, challenge those with power to adopt policies and behaviour that promotes social justice and end poverty.http://www.cafod.org.uk/

How does your Finance skills fit into this?

Job duties of each individual role can be found on our recruitment page of our website : http://www.vmminternational.org/index.php?option=com_jobboard&view=list&layout=list&Itemid=114 .  The ultimate goal of finance positions is for you to ensure all donor income records are maintained and that it is used in accordance to donor wishes, putting in place restrictions on accounts for corruption of funds. Do not underestimate the difference you can and will make with your skills. Position length varies from a few months to 2 years.

Although this is a volunteer position, a generous allowance, airfares, accommodation, visas and insurance are paid for. There is no deadline for these positions.
