English Teacher, Rwanda - Assumption Volunteer Programme
Submitted: 04/05/12 ; Closing Date: OpenThe Assumption Sisters have several rural secondary schools in Rwanda, a beautiful country with a tragic recent history. To work here you need to be a qualified and experienced English teacher. Classes are usually formal but there is room for more creative activities too. Rwanda is traditionally French- and Kinyarwanda-speaking but the country aims to be trilingual with English very soon.
Volunteers also need to be emotionally mature, outgoing yet self-sufficient, with some French- (GCSE minimum). The academic year starts in January.
Assumption Volunteer Programme (ALVP)
ALVP offers people the opportunity and challenge of sharing for one year in the lives of the poor, the young and the marginalized overseas or in the UK, in projects connected with the Assumption Sisters.
