Director of Medical Caravans, Ecuador - HCJB Global

HCJB Global's Community Development team in Ecuador requires a Director to lead the medical caravans ministry. This long established ministry addresses physical and spiritual health needs as it seeks to be the voice and hands of Jesus Christ.

Core responsibilities include:

• Liaising and planning with community or church leaders about requests for the caravan service.
• Liaising with medical and dental professionals who will staff the caravans.
• Developing contacts and relationships with Ecuadorian health service providers and health professionals as we seek to complement and not compete with existing health infrastructure.
• Logistical and technical support for the caravan - includes restocking of medicines and supplies, and ensuring the caravan truck is maintained and serviced well.
• Leadership and supervision when the caravan is on site.
• Maintaining and developing donor relationships and ministry partners through regular and relevant communication via blogs, websites and newsletters.

The ideal candidate will be a fluent Spanish speaker with good interpersonal skills, leadership ability and some experience in a medical environment such as a clinic, hospital or pharmacy. Bible college or seminary education would also be advantageous.

The post will be available from 1st April 2013 and will be initially for a period of 16 months. There is scope however for the term of service to be extended.
