Community development, Philippines - Assumption Volunteer Programme
Submitted: 04/04/12 ; Closing Date: OpenVolunteers are placed in projects in schools, orphanages, parishes, in city or rural areas, living simply alongside the people and sharing their lives and gifts. Our main partner is AMA, Associate Missionaries of the Assumption, which places and supports local and foreign volunteers together in their service and formation programme. It is an opportunity to experience deeply another culture and move outside your comfort zone. Volunteers need to be very flexible - you will be placed somewhere your gifts can be used but you will find that the greatest gift you can give is yourself.
With another partner we have a vacancy for an animator for a local women's co-operative - skills needed in business or marketing, accountancy, book-keeping, design, IT etc.
Another vacancy is for an assistant in a pre-school and orphanage in a poor part of Manila
Assumption Volunteer Programme (ALVP)
ALVP offers people the opportunity and challenge of sharing for one year in the lives of the poor, the young and the marginalized overseas or in the UK, in projects connected with the Assumption Sisters.
