Accounting Trainer, South Sudan - Volunteer Missionary Movement
Submitted: 01/12/11 ; Closing Date: OpenVMM is looking to recruit an Accounting Trainer for a 6 month post in South Sudan supported by the Diocese of Tombura Yambio. The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio actively implements social programmes including emergency aid, education, healthcare and justice and peace.
Duties
- Improve and develop proper accounting systems for the financial administration of the Diocesan Finance Office and the finance offices of other diocesan donor funded programmes.
- Provide 'on the job' training, advice and instruction to the finance office personnel on the use of double entry book keeping, ledger entries and the maintenance of these books. In particular to assist staff in the updating of the financial records and reconcilliation of cash books and ledgers from an agreed futuer date.
- Introduce a computerised accounting system as the basis for the diocesan financial management to include:
- A diocesan chart of accounts
- A standardised system of cash control
- Relevant forms and procedures
- Ensure all payments are made in line with approved budgets and activites.
- Set up a diocesan financial database.
- Develop and create a consistent sense of stewardship all over the Diocese.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Financial Administration/Accountancy
- At least two years relevant work experience
- Familiarity with computerised accounting/finance systems (Pastel)
- Good command of English
- Excellent skills in 'on the job' training and coaching
