What to Pray

OSCAR's Mission Organisations Directory can put you in touch with missions who will gladly supply you with fuel for prayer and have you join their ministry in this way.

Alternatively, you can use the website www.PrayerPoints.org to pray for the current needs of a number of mission organisations.

Also, you can pray for individual missionary's needs through one of the following sites.

Global Day of Prayer

Their mission statement says "To call Christians from all nations to unite in repentance and prayer, and to collaborate as God’s instruments for the blessing and healing of the nations." Following the example of the first believers who “joined together constantly” in prayer (Acts 1.14) during the ten days between the ascension of Jesus and the descent of His Spirit on Pentecost … for the next 5 years until 2010, a simple threefold strategy will be implemented:
- 1. 10 Days of day-and-night prayer from Ascension Day until the Saturday before Pentecost Sunday.
- 2. A global day of repentance & prayer on Pentecost Sunday
- 3. 90 Days of "community blessing"

World Prayer Centre

The World Prayer Centre is part of the new thing that God is doing around the world. As the Church begins to strategise and think globally, so we must pray globally. A united and consistent flow of strategic prayer is needed now:
• to open the way for us to reach the remaining peoples of the world who have not yet heard the good news of Jesus
• to equip the church to reach out with love and grace to a hurting society
• to enable us to meet, with the authority of Christ, the challenges and opportunities of national and international power structures
• to strengthen the Church to meet its end-time calling
