'Bringing the World to your Church'

This book by Joy Piper, published in 2001, has been written to provide ideas and information on how to encourage your church to look beyond its own needs to those of the wider world. It can help you organise special events, introduce children to the adventure of world mission, stimulate prayer and support for missionaries amongst other activities. The book is available to order from WEC Publications (£5).

Mission Encouragement Trust

MET offer on-the-field encouragement to missionaries through visits and retreats. At every retreat a loving atmosphere is created to encourage and inspire spiritual revitalisation and replenishment. Each missionary will enjoy the rich fellowship and encouragement of fellow missionaries as well as precious personal times of seeking God’s face. Each one is assured of a personal and warm welcome. The quality of personal service and comfort, together with the restful surroundings, ensures each returns to their location of service both renewed and refreshed in body, mind, soul and spirit. Under the leadership of Jan Rowland and Mintie Nel, Directors of MET, an excellent seasoned staff will daily facilitate times of Biblical meditation, prayer, teaching and worship song. Every afternoon MET offers personal relaxation time with the option of benefiting from one to one debriefing and / or counselling.
