Living Generously

Living Generously is several things. Firstly its a message, its about making a difference in the world in which we live by using our time, money and energy to help others. One way we have decided to support this message is to set up this web site to challenge, inspire and empower people to live generously. In practical terms, the web site also provides a single access point enabling you to find gifts meeting different needs across the world and then either give a specific gift or invite friends and family to give to those you have selected by setting up a gift list, e.g. for christmas, birthday or a wedding. Its not just about giving of our money, its about our lifestyle and looking beyond ourselves.  It may not involve money at all, it may be giving some of our time to help with a local youth project or doing kind things for those around us.

Gospel Cards

Gospel Cards was started in 1982 when Mike and Sue Hart were unable to find suitable Christmas cards to send to non-Christian family and friends - cards that explained why Christ was born. They therefore produced their own card, and made it available for others to use. Since then millions of cards for various occasions have been produced - some designed for sending to non-Christians, others for sending to Christians. In 1997 they started to distribute good Christian books and other literature.
Several mission organisations receive a percentage of the amount you pay for these cards and gifts.

Liberty Books

Liberty Books offers a service to any individual, church or mission that has Christian books they'd like to sell in order to raise funds for their mission, Church, or project. This could also include missionaries seeking to raise funds for their own support on the mission field. We receive the books and advertise them for sale on our web site and 3 other web sites. Book sales are processed by us and sale proceeds (less 40% commission) paid directly to the mission concerned and full statements provided of books sold and books awaiting sale.
In addition, Liberty Books gives a further 5% of all sale proceeds to Mission.

Software

GATS (Gift Aid Tax Software)

Cleaford Services Ltd have provided  their GATS Gift Aid Tax Software package to over 400 churches and charities since the current system was introduced in 2000.  They have now produced GATS version 3.7, which includes the changes to accommodate the new R68 Claim Schedule being introduced by HMRC.  The GATS R68 Schedule has been approved by HMRC – the old style of R68 forms will not be accepted by HMRC after December 2007, so charities are urged to upgrade by November. As well as extensive help files explaining the new Accounting period procedure which must be followed for Gift Aid claims, Cleaford Services are now also offering that their technicians can log on to a customer’s PC (with permission!) to install the software and give a short, live, on screen introduction to its use. Cleaford will also connect in order to install the upgrade for existing users, and explain the changes, or to give more generalised help on the software, moving to a new computer, etc.
