Making a call to a worker overseas is no longer that expensive due to the competitive telecommunications marketplace. There are many new 'third-party' telephone companies appearing in the UK. These enable you to use your existing telephone line but routed through a separate companies system (usually done by dialling a suffix code before the number). Savings of up to half the BT rate are possible on some international calls from the UK. Please note that using these services is often only possible with a BT line, not with many phone lines provided by other companies (i.e. ntl & telewest).
