One Year for Bosnia (1YB), Bosnia Herzegovina - Novi Most
Posted: 22/03/08; Expires: 30/09/08Novi Most International was born in the crisis of the 1992-95 Bosnian war,
bringing the love of Jesus to a nation where many atrocities were committed
in his name. Today, we are a Christian mission agency working with Bosnian
young people to help them overcome the effects of the past, equip them to
enter their futures with hope and confidence and empower them to become
agents of positive transformation in their communities.
1YB (One Year for Bosnia) runs from September to August. It is a wide,
varied, challenging and pioneering opportunity to help the young people of
Bosnia Herzegovina reconstruct their lives and look forward to the future
with hope and encouragement and an opportunity to utilize and exercise the
gifts God has given you in service of building His Kingdom in Mostar or
Capljina. As a 1YB volunteer you will be getting alongside the young people
helping them to develop in character and skill, introducing them to the
Gospel of Christ Jesus and integrate them into church life. You will be
working as part of a team and as such is fully expected to help where
appropriate, take part in team meetings, prayer, bible studies and other
activities including supporting the local church. As a 1YB you will be
involved in the summer activities helping to run the Novi Most summer camps
for children and young people and may also include specific projects.
