Main areas of activity:
Project Development and Implementation
- Plan the country strategy and implement, evaluate and control projects
- Write proposals and reports including: managing surveys; drafting budgets; writing financial reports; regular reporting to HQ, other organisations and donors.
- Manage programme logistics. Supervise procurement, transport, storage, distribution and maintenance of shipments, equipment and vehicles.
- Manage the Medair Quality System. Assess the satisfaction of the beneficiaries and ensure that procedures, formats and systems are constantly improved.
Financial Management
- Manage major financial aspects of project; i.e. controlling budgets, organizing audits, deciding on major procurements.
HR Management
- Monitor and manage all staff, holding quarterly personnel evaluation meetings with team members as well as ensure their physical and spiritual well-being.
Security Management
- Responsible for the security of all Medair staff and equipment as well as being able to develop, implement and maintain security protocols.
Public Relations and Communications
- Develop and maintain relationships with officials, authorities, churches, institutional donors, the press, NGOs and embassies.
Specific requirements
- Spiritual maturity
- Minimum 3 years in a management position
- Experience working in overseas disaster relief projects
- Consultative leadership style. Experience in staff care and development
- Sharp analytical mind. Able to conduct field assessments and plans analysis
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Culturally-sensitive negotiator with superior presentation skills
- Skilled financial planner and report writer
- Knowledge of French or Arabic an asset
Term: 2 year contract (first year voluntary depending on experience)
