Construction Supervisors (Engineers & Technicians), Africa & Asia - Medair

Main areas of activity can include (level of responsibility may vary according to position)

  • Survey and initiate construction projects and write corresponding proposals
  • Develop strategies and design programmes appropriate to needs, technology and sustainability
  • Implement, manage and control quality of project
  • Manage materials procurement
  • Communicate/coordinate with beneficiaries, NGOs, local authorities and Medair staff
  • Manage and train staff, in particular local staff capacity building

Specific requirements

  • Relevant Engineering qualification or training in carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, mechanics, electrics, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years construction and/or project management experience
  • Some overseas work experience preferred
  • Flexible team-player who adapts well to change
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of French or Arabic an asset

Term:                               2 year contract (first year voluntary depending on experience)
