Main areas of activity can include (level of responsibility may vary according to position)
- Survey and initiate construction projects and write corresponding proposals
- Develop strategies and design programmes appropriate to needs, technology and sustainability
- Implement, manage and control quality of project
- Manage materials procurement
- Communicate/coordinate with beneficiaries, NGOs, local authorities and Medair staff
- Manage and train staff, in particular local staff capacity building
Specific requirements
- Relevant Engineering qualification or training in carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, mechanics, electrics, etc.
- Minimum 2 years construction and/or project management experience
- Some overseas work experience preferred
- Flexible team-player who adapts well to change
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of French or Arabic an asset
Term: 2 year contract (first year voluntary depending on experience)
