Shop Manager, Mozambique - Maforga Christian Mission
Posted: 23/04/08; Expires: 31/10/08Maforga Christian Mission in central Mozambique runs a small shop and cafe on a main road running through their property. Following a sudden vacancy it is urgently looking for a couple or individual who would be able to pick up the vision for running the shop, complete the construction of new premises and develop the cafe. As well as providing finance for the mission's work the vision is to make the shop into a place of supply and outreach to the local community and to people travelling by on the busy road.
Accommodation will be provided but you will need to be self-financing. Experience of life in rural Africa and an ability to speak some Portuguese would be helpful but not essential. You will need to be self-motivating and self-managing as this is an independent project within a decentralised organisation. Other staff at Maforga speak English and there is a strong and supportive Christian community running a church, orphanage, clinic, school, technical school and other projects.
