experienced leader to serve as Director and guide the school to achieve
excellence in academic programs and Christian education so that HOPAC
students are equipped to live out a Christ centered life.
HOPAC, founded in 1994, is an international Christian K-12 school with over
280 students from 30 different countries and a variety of religious
backgrounds including Christian, Muslim and Hindu. While the majority of
students come from families of missionaries, diplomats and the international
business community, almost 35% are Tanzanian.
Along with a senior Administrative Team, and in collaboration with an
appointed school board of governors, the Head of School provides overall
leadership for 42 faculty and over 23 support staff. The Head is responsible
for the organization and leadership of the school, its staff and the welfare
and safety of all students, teachers, staff and administration.
Candidates to be the next Head of School at HOPAC should demonstrate in their application materials how their educational philosophy, leadership style, and management skills would match the school's mission, faith statement, and vision. HOPAC seeks a proven, effective school leader with at least a bachelor's degree (masters degree preferred) and at least two successful years of school administrative experience, preferably in an international and/or multicultural setting. Candidates must be evangelical Christians in good standing with their local church and able to understand and interpret the Bible into a practical, applied world-view. Qualifications also include exemplary English oral and written communication skills, strong interest and capabilities in multi-community relations, successful experience in Christian faculty development, and aptitude in school advancement and fund raising.
HOPAC expects the Director to be supported spiritually and financially through a mission organization or home church. The school provides some volunteer staff assistance in the form of a monthly living allowance that covers a significant portion of in-country living expenses.
