Christian International Peace Service (CHIPS)
Who are we?
An established UK charity with 40 years experience in working for peace and reconciliation in the UK and overseas.
Why Peacemaking?
Every day, violence and broken relationships mar the lives of millions of men, women and children across the globe.
What is our vision?
To contribute to peace and reconciliation in areas of conflict and tension around the world using a practical and sustainable, biblically based, grassroots approach.
Where do we work?
Our work is currently focussed in NE Uganda but previous projects have been in Cyprus, Northern Ireland, India, England and The Philippines. We also hope to begin working in Ghana from 2008.
How do we contribute to peace?
CHIPS works through teams of Christians living and praying together amongst the local people and undertaking practical projects with people from all sides of the conflict to serve their needs, foster positive interaction and reduce enmity.
CHIPS has the capability and opportunity to further extend its work into other parts of the world. To do this we are looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds who would like to work with us for peace in this contemporary form of mission - see below for specific opportunities.
