Hospitality Homes International

Makahiki Ministries has provided a rest and hospitality ministry for hundreds of Christian workers. Hospitality Homes International is our network of over 120 homes worldwide. These homes are privately owned by Christian hosts in the spirit of Romans 12:13 "Share with God's people in need . . practice hospitality." They are available to workers seeking spiritual and physical renewal at a nominal donation to the ministry.

The Juniper Tree, Thailand

Since 1977, The Juniper Tree has been offering rest and refreshment for Christian workers in Asia, working in situations outside of their own culture. They are an evangelical, non-denominational, charitable foundation, set up to provide places where individuals, couples or families can come to find physical and spiritual refreshment to enable them to return to their sphere of service.
We are not a guest house or hotel, but rather our aim is to provide a home away from home, for Christian workers on a low budget to come and enjoy the peaceful environment.

Peace Guest House, Cyangugu, Rwanda

Peace Guest House is situated by Lake Kivu in the town of Cyangugu in the South-West of Rwanda. It has 16 bedrooms in one block and five "rondavels" each with two bedrooms, bathroom and sitting room. There is a restaurant and lounge, both with satellite TV and all rooms have hot and cold showers or baths and flush toilets. The lake is safe for swimming and boating and the guest house has adequate security for a peaceful holiday or business stay. Full board for £20.00 a day. These are privately owned, smoke free Christian homes made available by those with a heart for hospitality, and a desire to serve those in ministry. Some are available only overnight, while others are available for longer periods of time. Shalom House, Butare, Rwanda

A small 8-room guesthouse at the EAR Butare (Anglican Church) Centre, to be found just beyond the University Rectory, on the tarmac road to Burundi.
