THE FESTIVE FRITH FLYER ... Christmas 1999 ![]()
Dear Friends
We hope that this Frith Flyer finds you in good cheer, looking forward to the festive season and the landmark event of the New Millennium. If not, don't worry, sit back and allow us to brighten your day with our taste
lessfully designed, customised Christmas missive.
Family News
As you can see from the photo, Joanna and William are both well. William continues to grow at quite a rate, weighing in at 12lb 3oz at the moment. He's pretty content with life and doesn't cause too much disruption (plenty of time for that, later!). His smiles are brilliant. 'Born at the turn of the century' seems an odd thing to say about a baby!
These last few months, Joanna has probably had the greatest adjustment out of all of us but is coping very well with the new challenges. This last year has seen her world change dramatically but she tackles everything with confidence and bold inquisitiveness. She now attends nursery three mornings a week and enjoys trashing the house the rest of the time!
Cheryl has made an excellent recovery from the birth and is 'back to normal' (no rude comments, please). Looking after Joanna and William is no mean feat but she copes very well with all the demands. Being in a relatively settled environment is a big help; routines are easily established.
We have settled at Burbage Methodist Church, on the outskirts of Hinckley. I have joined the worship music group and will also be doing some preaching in the New Year. Cheryl has been attending one of the house groups whilst I have been baby-sitting.

After three months of work on the project things are just starting to take shape.
I attended the Annual Evangelical Missionary Alliance conference in November and had the opportunity to introduce the project to the mission organisations that were represented there. I have also been able to meet or speak with a number of the larger mission organisations during these last few weeks. The response from them has been encouraging. The general feel is that some sort of central resource and information service for missions could prove very useful for both missionaries and mission organisations. I have been trying to establish in what subject areas help is most needed so I can tackle those first.
Alongside this I've been finding out as much as I can about the different services already established to help missionaries overseas. I have discovered that there is a whole range of services available but getting information about them is not so easy. That's where 'Resource' is going to help.
On Thursday nights I have been taking an evening class in Web-site design. Some of the aspects of the 'Resource' web-site will be quite complex so I have needed to enlist some expertise for the initial design. By the end of January, I plan to have a basic web-site ready for launch on the Internet that I can gradually develop and expand.
Back to the Festivities
We shall be spending Christmas in Dunstable with my family and the New Year with Cheryl's parents, who are renting a couple of cottages near Nantwich to accommodate the extended family for a Millennium Bash.
