Online Giving Overview

Since publishing last month's feature about `Online Giving', there has been an offline discussion about the pros and cons of various online giving services and facilities. We thought that we would share our experience with OSCAR Forum users and invite you to participate.
We have researched various online giving options, and in some cases tested them using small donations, with the following results:
givenow.org - CAF's online donations service. Charities only, free to set up (through www.efundraising.org.uk), 5% admin charge to donor, gift aid is automatically added to each donation (if the donor indicates that they're a UK tax payer). Can take several weeks before the donation or information about the donation is passed on to the charity.
allaboutgiving.org - CAF's CharityCard service. Charities only, free to set up (through www.efundraising.org.uk), 4% admin charge to donor, gift aid is added to the donors CharityCard account (not the recipient charity).
charitygiving.co.uk - Service provided by The Dove Trust. Charities only, free to set up, 3% admin charge, gift aid is automatically added to the donation and passed on to the charity. Payment and notification takes just a few days. The Dove Trust can offer many other ways of giving to charity too.
charityportal.org.uk - Information & donation website. Uses the securegiving.co.uk donation service. Charities only. No gift aid reclaim facility, free to register your charity, 6% admin charge to donor.
securegiving.co.uk - Online charity donation service. Charities only, No gift aid reclaim facility, tiered setup costs for own branded donation web page, 6% admin charge to donor.
paypal.co.uk - Online payment service. Anyone can receive payments or donations. No gift aid reclaim facility. Debit/credit card payments are charged at 1.9% to 3.4% + €0.35 EUR (in reality that works out at between 5-6% on small donations up to £20).
efundraising.org.uk - Tailored efundraising service from CAF offering branded online donation web page. Charities only. £150 setup, admin charge is £1 for donations up to £25, 4% thereafter. Gift aid is automatically added to each donation (if the donor indicates that they're a UK tax payer).
justgiving.com - Service offering branded online donation web page. Charities only. £150 setup plus £25 monthly, 5% admin charge on gross value of the gift, gift aid is automatically added to each donation (if the donor indicates that they're a UK tax payer).
bmycharity.com - Service offering branded online donation web page. Charities only. £150 setup, no monthly charge but 5.85% on gross, gift aid is automatically added to each donation (if the donor indicates that they're a UK tax payer).

One further online giving service to add to this month's list:
charitychoice.co.uk - Service offered in association with the Cooperative Bank plc. Charities only. No setup fees. No admin charge. Full gift aid amount (28%) added to the donation.

One correction to Charitychoice.co.uk , the admin charge is only zero for standing orders set up through their service. There is an admin charge for credit card donations (2.35%) and debit card transactions (27.5p).
