Retrieve OSCAR web pages (or any web pages) by email

If you either have slow speed, infrequent or sporadic web access, or if you only have email and no web access, there are several ways to retrieve web pages by email. Most of these services will respond to a request for a web page by sending it to your email address as either text or 'html' (webpage code). As the graphics on any page are stored as separate files, some facilities will not retrieve the pictures on a page at the same time as the text. Graphics files can usually be retrieved separately, if required. Some of these facilities are listed below, try them out and find one that suits you, your software and your connection.

With various 'web to email' servers around the world, you can request a web page using just an email message and the page will be emailed back to you. You need to know the exact URL of the page (URL is the web address i.e. www.oscar.org.uk/index.html for OSCAR's front page). To retrieve a web page, first choose one of the server email addresses below. These have all been successfully tested by OSCAR and have instructions under them. They are listed in order of the level of success we had (with the best at the top). As these servers are free and often very busy, the process can take anything from a few minutes to an hour or more before you receive your web page by email. Any feedback you have about these, or any others you prefer, would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a list of all the pages on OSCAR along with their web addresses (URLs) then request the www.oscar.org.uk/sitemap.htm page first.
